Sometimes a stepladder or an extension ladder just won’t do the trick. Changing fanlights, painting, laying siding, repairing soffits, and many other jobs require a more stable platform for working above the ground. The answer is often Bil-Jax scaffolding. Two 5’x5’ frames and cross braces easily lock together to create a 5’ deep by 5’ high by 7’ long box, and a number of boxes can be put one on top of the other. Sturdy Bil-Jax walkboards can then be readily added as work surfaces. Adjustable screw legs may be used to stabilize the scaffolding on soft or uneven ground, and casters can be used to wheel a scaffolding tower around, which is an especially useful function inside a house or other building. For added security, posts and rails may be set up to create a guard-rail system on the top deck of the scaffolding tower.

The TS 800 is a powerful saw that starts and runs well over short or extended periods, and it’s light and easy to handle. This ergonomically-designed hand-held saw can do many of the jobs done by a walk-behind saw, without the inconvenience of the much bigger machine. The arbor size of the TS 800 is 20mm, but with a bushing any 25mm (1") blade can easily be fitted to the machine.
With a platform height of 42’, the Nifty Lift TM42T is the safest way to get to many of those difficult places high up on houses, apartment blocks, commercial buildings, light poles, and trees. With a tare weight of 4000 lbs. and a folded-up profile of 6’ (wide) x 19’ (long) x 7’ (high), the TM42T is a light and compact tow behind on a 2" ball, and it sets up with a footprint of only 13’ x 19’ x 7’. Its trim dimensions and hydraulic outriggers make maneuvering and positioning the lift quick and easy, and its hydraulic controls and electric-powered motor make it a smooth operator, both from the bucket and the ground. (It also has a gas backup motor.) At 4’ 7" wide, the platform provides plenty of room to work and can safely lift up to 500 lbs. But perhaps the TM42T’s most impressive feature is its ability to reach up and over roofs and other obstacles: for example, at 37’ platform height, the bucket can boom out 16’ horizontally.

At 9000 pounds and powered by a Cat C3.3 B DIT (turbo) 74 horsepower engine, the 259D3 has the muscle to do a wide range of jobs for contractor and homeowner alike. It can be fitted with nonhydraulic attachments such as a standard 72" front-end-loader bucket or forks, or with hydraulic Quick Attach devices such as a 4-in-1 opening bucket, a posthole digger assembly, or a 60" brush mower. The 259D3 is controlled by joysticks (there are no clunky foot pedals to worry about), and the rubber tracks enable it to negotiate even the most challenging terrain. It’s a strong lifter too, with the capacity to raise a load of 2000 pounds to 10’.
For light to heavy-duty digging in all kinds of terrain, even the most challenging, the Caterpillar 305E2 is an ideal tool. At 11,500 pounds and powered by a 40 horsepower Diesel Cat C2.4 engine, it is in the large mini excavator class. The 305E2 has an extended boom that can reach horizontally to 19’7" and dig vertically to 12’0". It also has a thumb and a leveling blade and can be fitted with a 12" trenching bucket, a 24" standard, or a 36" wide bucket most often used for septic tank work. Like all the Caterpillar minis, the 305E2 has an easy-to-use joystick control system that gives it maximum maneuverability.
At 7800 pounds and powered by a 33 horsepower Diesel Cat C1.8 engine, the Caterpillar 303.5E2 is a mid-sized mini excavator built for all but the biggest jobs. The machine has an extended boom that can reach horizontally to 16’9" and dig vertically to 7’8". It also has a thumb and a leveling blade, and can be fitted with a 12" or 24" bucket. Rugged but low profile, the 303.5E2 is ideal for general excavation work around home or building site including digging footers or foundations and trenches for water, sewer, drainage, or power lines. The machine has an easy-to-use joystick control system that makes it highly maneuverable, even in tight environments.
